Ellie was found in Rhode Island at a Mercedes Benz dealership needing a new home. On a journey to Colorado, where her conversion would begin, she was put to the test. Ellie triumphed thru a nor’easter storm with both blizzards and rain storms to the sunshine in Virginia Beach. She then visited the Ozarks traveling down some sketchy back-country dirt roads camped while we hiked part of the OHT. No trip would be complete if going cross country without some Kansas winds. Now in Colorado her conversion began.
This is how Ellie got her name. She no longer could be called the big blue van. It became clear she demonstrated characteristics more an elephant: strong, guiding us safely cross country, loyal, and ready to for future adventures.
